Nigerian kids may see Ernie and Elmo, but Bino and Fino are made for them
The idea for the Bino and Fino cartoon show came about in 2007 when the creator of the show, Adamu Waziri, realized that there was a lack of true African-made children's educational cartoon shows. At the time there were no indigenous cartoon shows in Nigeria that showed children a reflection of themselves. All cartoon shows were imported and had no link to Africa in any way. There was also a lack of support of indigenous children's programming. The Bino and Fino cartoon show was created to help rectify this imbalance.
The show is for parents, schools, home-schoolers, and others who are finding it difficult to find positive, fun, educational content about Africa for their children to watch. The program is produced by EVCL, an animation studio based in Abuja.
